Het jaar 2012 staat in het teken van 400 jaar betrekkingen tussen Nederland en Turkije. Om dit te vieren besteedt Het Leids Film Festival dit jaar aandacht aan Turkse cinema door middel van een speciaal filmprogramma. Na het festival maakt dit programma een tour door verschillende Nederlandse bioscopen.

Het is begin jaren negentig in Turkije. Een nieuwe mediawet staat het ontstaan van private radiostations toe. Twee jonge mannen, Mete en Kaan beginnen hun eigen radioshow op Radio Kent. De show wint rap aan populariteit door de relaxte manier waarop Mete en Kaan met hun publiek communiceren, alsof het een kroeggesprek is. Met hun Bohemiaanse filosofie worden ze al gauw de rebellen van een nieuwe stadse tegencultuur. Hun publiek ontwikkelt zich tot een door de radio verbonden gemeenschap genaamd "The Loser's Club".


It's the early nineties. A new media law allows the creation of private radio stations. Two young men, Mete and Kaan start their own radio show on Radio Kent. The show's popularity soars as Kaan and Mete communicate with the listeners in a laid-back manner, as if they are drinking in a pub. Soon, they become renegades of a new, urbanite counter-cultural network, addressing people who favour their bohemian philosophy. The show's audience evolves into a loosely knit-community called "The Loser's Club". Meanwhile, Kaan is with Zeynep (Ahu Türkpençe), the woman whom he believes to change the course of his life.
